On Thursday June 8th, several of our staff members made their way over to Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle school (DDEMS) in Laurel, MD to speak to the entire sixth grade class. During a special assembly, the Tischer team, along with Councilwomen Mary Lehman representative Dora Myles-Moore, Honda USA representative Joe Lopez, PTSA president Ron Dortch and many others, presented the details of an exciting new program they are sponsoring:
Bikes for Perfect Attendance!
Tischer Acura Nissan has committed to providing every seventh grade student who obtains perfect attendance during the 2016-2017 school year with a brand new bike!
The program is designed to encourage students to come to school every day and also to help them with team building and goal setting. The Tischer team will return to DDEMS in August to formally kick off the program and get the students excited. There will be three or four ambassadors selected to keep the students on track and remind them of the awesome new bike that awaits them if they can accomplish this one small goal or coming to school every day.
Long time Tischer team member and community liaison, Jean Johnson, stated that “We are thrilled to be able to sponsor and launch this program. It is our hope that the incentive of a new bike drives the seventh grade students to not only come to school every day, but to come to school prepared to do their very best.”
As an organization, we have been supporting Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle school for the past six years. Each year they try to contribute more and more and help is any way possible. We know that it is not easy to support a school and we want to do everything we can to help the parents, teachers and most importantly, the students, succeed.
Below you will find several pictures from our event as well as a video of the program announcement. For more details on the program, stop by Tischer Acura Nissan and ask to speak to Jean Johnson.
